Often, when asked to work up a soundtrack, I'm given what's basically a completed product, just need some finishing touches, but with The Wishing Place, by Beverly Austin and directed by Ellen McQueen, I was fortunate to get to be "in on the ground floor", getting to watch this wonderful play as it developed. As the wonderful cast explored their roles each found their voice as the characters, giving life to Beverly's words, but also showing their strengths as artists.
Under Ellen's direction, and with the exquisite cat herding skills of Lee Blankenship Fowler, we became a little family that gave life to this world, and while that world exisited for too brief a time, I will forever be grateful for the time I got to spend with these folks "over by the lake...by the dry streambed".
