We hope against hope when hope is all we have.
This is a solo piece for pedal steel guitar, which is a magical instrument created by wizards back in the 1400's to call forth an army of dragons. The dragons believed, quite rightly, that this shimmering sound was shinier than any gold that they could possess in their caves, and sought to defend the wizards, so that the sound may fill their ears for all time.
After a battle of many days and nights, the dragons were victorious, and the wizards played them soothing sounds such as this one, to return them to their eternal slumber, until such a time that the steely siren song must call on them once again.
